The story states out by explaining the rollercoaster of a life that SOnny deals with and his downfall by turning to drugs to escape his hardships, yet takes a sharp turn when it explains how Sony is trying to redeem himself and how he is trying to fix his broken relationship with his brother. On the other hand, there is the narrator who is explaining his end of how he reaches out to Sonny while Sonny is in jail to redeem thor relationship. The narrator is motivated to do this after the passing of his daughter. Although the narrator and SOn have two opposite lives, one being a trainwreck and the other being on the right path, they both decide to put their differences to the side to fix their disputes and to repair their relationship as brothers.
